These nachos are loaded with ground beef, black beans, onion, bell pepper, and cheese and are so easy to make in the Ninja Foodi.
Jump to RecipeI have so many fond memories as a kid of my parents whipping up some loaded nachos. My brothers and I were always like, “Yay! Chips for dinner!” while for my parents it was just a quick and easy way to hit all the food groups without having to hear any complaints from us kids. :P And now, as a dietitian, I look back on those nacho meals and am just so impressed with my parent’s ingenuity. Nachos really are a great way to hit a bunch of different food groups (tortilla chips – grain, onion and peppers – veggies, beef and beans – protein, cheese – dairy/calcium-source) in a way that’s simple and delicious! Y’all know I just had to make this a Ninja Foodi recipe too — it’s been a year since I got my Foodi and I’m still obsessed!

We’re going to do ALL of our cooking in the Ninja Foodi–honestly, this is one of my favorite things about the Foodi. I can do so many different cooking functions all in the same device, which is just so convenient! Set your Foodi to ‘saute’ on high and let it heat up. Once it’s heated, add the vegetable oil and your ground beef. Brown the beef until it’s cooked through and no longer pink, or about 3-5 minutes. Drain any excess grease and return the beef to the Foodi pot.
Then, add the ground cumin, garlic salt, onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper and saute for about 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is translucent. Turn off the heat.
Add the black beans and gently stir to incorporate into everything else.
Top everything with the tortilla chips and then the cheese.
Close the air crisping lid (the one that’s attached) and set Foodi to ‘air crisp’ at 355 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. If you want your nachos a bit crispier, add a bit more time.
Serve with a silicone tongs, and enjoy!

Ninja Foodi Nachos
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 medium yellow onion diced (about 1 cup)
- 1 green bell pepper seeds removed, chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper seeds removed, diced
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans drained and rinsed
- 8 ounces tortilla chips (about 1/2 a bag)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Set Foodi to 'saute' on high. Once heated, add vegetable oil and ground beef and brown until cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Drain any excess grease and return beef to Foodi pot.
- Add ground cumin, garlic salt, onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper and saute for 2-3 minutes or until onion is translucent and peppers are able to be easily pierced with a fork. Turn off heat.
- Add black beans to Foodi pot and gently stir until combined.
- Sprinkle tortilla chips and then cheese overtop everything. Close the air crisping lid (attached) and set Foodi to 'air crisp' at 355 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes, or until desired level of crispiness is reached.
- Serve as is, or top with sour cream, green onions, fresh tomato, salsa, or your other favorite nacho toppings!
Notes
- To make vegetarian: simply omit the beef. You can add more black beans or plant-based crumbles, if desired.
- To make gluten-free: most tortilla chips are naturally gluten-free as they're made with corn, however, many are processed in facilities with wheat so be sure your tortilla chips are certified gluten-free.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. I'll be honest, I don't love nachos leftover as the texture typically gets soft. BUT if you reheat them in your Foodi (air crisp for 1-2 minutes) or in a toaster oven/full-size oven they're usually pretty good. Just not as good as fresh. :)
- Safety first! I love using my silicone oven mitts and silicone tongs when cooking in my Ninja Foodi. The tongs also work really well to serve these nachos--win-win!
