This refreshing grape lemonade has no added sugar and is naturally flavored with fresh grapes, mint, and lemon for a simple but satisfying drink.
Jump to RecipeThis grape lemonade is the happiest little accident I’ve had in a while! :P Honestly, I had some grapes in the fridge that were starting to get a little mushy (still safe to eat, but the texture just isn’t the same). And I had some leftover mint from when I made my Eggplant Quinoa Bowl (I’ve seriously made it at least once a month this summer). So I got curious about how I could use up both of these ingredients. And for some reason, my brain went to lemonade, so here we are! This grape lemonade is SO good though, that I’m definitely not complaining.
For some reason, I always thought that making homemade lemonade was such a laborious process. Really not sure why… I always just assumed that you had to squeeze bag after bag of lemons and dump in copious amounts of sugar. Boy was I wrong! Homemade lemonade like this is SO easy. And look at that, you only need 4 ingredients (and one of them is water, so does that even really count??).
This recipe could not be simpler! You just have to juice your lemons, halve your grapes, and finely chop your mint. I always “massage” my lemons before juicing them. Basically, I press my palm on top of them and roll them on the counter. This helps break up the inside flesh of the lemon to maximize the juice you’re able to get out of it.
Then, place your grapes, mint, and water into a small saucepan on the stove. Simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, mashing the grapes with a fork or potato masher as they soften.
Yeah, I mean…I know it doesn’t look the prettiest, but just wait, it’s going to get better, I promise. Once your grape mixture is done simmering, strain the mixture over a bowl with a fine mesh strainer. Discard the solids and mix in your lemon juice. Pour into a glass or mason jar and stick in the fridge for a bit to cool. I prefer to use a mason jar for this recipe since it has a convenient lid to keep it covered and prevent any spills while it’s cooling down. Serve with ice or chilled right out of the fridge!

Grape Lemonade
Ingredients
- 1 cup red grapes halved
- 1 tbsp fresh mint finely chopped
- 1 cup water
- 2 lemons juiced
Instructions
- Add grapes, mint, and water to a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, mashing grapes with a fork or potato masher as they soften.
- Remove grape mixture from heat and strain with a fine mesh strainer, discarding solids.
- In a drinking glass or mason jar, combine the grape mixture and lemon juice. Serve over ice or chilled.
Notes
- You can use dried mint instead of fresh if desired, use 1/3 the amount listed.
- For a darker color, try using black concord grapes instead of red grapes.
- Garnish your lemonade with a slice of lemon and sprig of fresh mint.
- If your lemonade isn't sweet enough for your liking, add a little honey, agave nectar, or your preferred sweetener of choice.
- Keep any leftovers in a sealed mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
