To start, set your Foodi to ‘saute’ on medium heat. Once it’s heated, add the vegetable oil and chicken and saute for 3-5 minutes, or until your chicken is no longer pink. You’ll need to move the chicken around pretty much constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Once the chicken is no longer pink, add 2 tbsp of the orange juice to the pot to deglaze it. Even if you don’t have any stuck-on bits on the bottom to scrape off, it still helps to add a little liquid so that nothing sticks while you’re adding the rest of the sauce ingredients. Use a wooden spoon to scrape off any stuck-on bits on the bottom of the pot. Just keep in mind that metal will scratch your Foodi pot, so wood or silicone utensils work best!
Once you’ve removed any stuck-on bits from your pot, add the rest of the sauce ingredients and stir well until everything is evenly dispersed. Put the pressure cooking lid on your Foodi, secure and lock it, and turn the nozzle to ‘seal’. Set Foodi to ‘pressure’ on high for 5 minutes. Allow the Foodi to naturally release pressure for 10 minutes before turning the nozzle to ‘vent’ and carefully releasing the rest of the pressure. Remove pressure cooking lid.
Then, in a small bowl, whisk together the corn starch and water to make a slurry.
Set your Foodi to ‘saute’ on low heat. Add the corn starch slurry to the orange chicken and stir slowly for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened. Turn off your Foodi, and let it stand for an additional 3-5 minutes to continue thickening.
Garnish with green onions, and serve with rice or noodles! Enjoy!

Ninja Foodi Orange Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts patted dry and cut into bite-sized pieces
For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup 100% orange juice
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
- 1 tbsp packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Zest from one orange
For the corn starch slurry:
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp water
To garnish:
- 2 green onions thinly sliced
Instructions
- Set Ninja Foodi to 'saute' on medium. Once heated, add vegetable oil and chicken and saute for 3-5 minutes, or until chicken starts to get golden brown. Stir constantly to prevent chicken from sticking.
- Once chicken is no longer pink, add 2 tbsp of the orange juice to deglaze the bottom of the pot. Use a wooden spoon to scrape any stuck-on bits off the bottom of the pot.
- Add the rest of the sauce ingredients to your Foodi and stir well until combined. Put pressure cooking lid on Foodi, secure and lock it, and turn the nozzle to 'seal'. Set Foodi to 'pressure' on high for 5 minutes. Allow Foodi to naturally release pressure for 10 minutes before turning nozzle to 'vent' to release the rest of the pressure and opening the lid.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the corn starch and water until combined.
- Set Foodi to 'saute' on low. Add your corn starch slurry to the orange chicken and stir slowly for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened. Turn off Foodi, and let stand for an additional 3-5 minutes to continue thickening before serving.
- Garnish with green onions, and serve with rice or noodles. Enjoy!
Notes
- Make sure that you're using a wood or silicone spoon to scrape the bottom of the pot. Metal will scratch the pot surface!
- Store any leftovers in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
- Safety first! I love using my silicone oven mitts when cooking with my Ninja Foodi.
