Happy Monday! I hope everyone who celebrated, had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of good food and great company. I started the week with a fun lunch with a good friend from high school. It’s been a couple of years since the last time we were able to get together, so it was nice to have a little time to catch up. We went to The Tipsy Chicken and ordered breakfast food for lunch!
For Thanksgiving, I celebrated with my mom’s side of the family. We went to my grandparents’ house for a delicious Thanksgiving feast around lunchtime. Before heading home, we went to my grandma’s house (my dad’s mom) to visit for a couple of hours. My parents are high school sweethearts, so both sets of my grandparents still live close-by. It’s so nice that they live so close because I’ve been able to spend more time with both sides throughout my life.
My older brother, Zach, had to work on Thanksgiving and couldn’t celebrate with us, unfortunately. Instead, we went out to dinner with him Friday night at Kyoto sushi. We ordered off their all-you-can-eat menu which was delicious! I don’t think I’ll be hungry for sushi again for a while though. :P
On Saturday, we celebrated a second Thanksgiving with my dad’s side of the family! Since both sides of my family live so close, we generally celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas twice. It’s nice to see both sides of my family, but it’s also pretty tiring to celebrate the holidays twice. :P I can’t complain about the food though, it’s always delicious!
Sunday was a rest and relaxation day after all the Thanksgiving celebrations. It was much needed! How was your Thanksgiving? What were your favorite foods? Mine is always the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie!
