Warm and cozy, this vegan pear crumble is the perfect plant-based dessert to curl up with on a chilly day.
Ever since I made this blueberry rhubarb crumble during a Twitch stream a few months back, I’ve rediscovered my absolute love for crumbles. They’re just so easy to throw together and so incredibly delicious. This time around, however, I decided to make a vegan version for my plant-based friends. And thus, my vegan pear crumble was born!

Pull out a large mixing bowl, and add your pears, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon. Stir gently, being careful not to smash your pear slices, until the pears are well coated.
Spoon or simply dump your coated pears into a greased 8×8″ glass baking dish. Shake the dish a little to make them somewhat level.
Then, in your now empty mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, melted coconut oil, brown sugar, and oats. Mix until it looks crumbly and coarse.
Sprinkle your crumble mixture evenly over the pears. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-45 minutes, or until your crumble is lightly browned. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. And be careful! This crumble gets HOT and bubbly, so even though it’s hard, please do wait a bit before serving and eating.
Serve as-is, or top with dairy-free whipped topping or ice cream! Enjoy!

Vegan Pear Crumble
Ingredients
For the filling:
- 4 medium pears peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
For the topping:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup coconut oil melted
- 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
- 2/3 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease an 8x8" glass baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine pears, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon. Stir gently until fruit is well coated. Spoon into prepared baking dish.
- In the same, now empty, mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, coconut oil, brown sugar, and oats until crumbly in texture. Sprinkle over pear mixture.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- If this recipe being vegan isn't important to you, you can sub 4 tbsp of cold butter instead of the coconut oil. Just cut the butter into the flour, baking powder, and salt mixture, using two forks, until coarse in texture before adding the brown sugar and oats.
- Store any leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. That's one of the reasons I love this baking dish, it comes with a lid!
