Lemon and sage give this chicken a warm, tart flavor.
Jump to RecipeI’m having a homemade marinade moment, so here’s yet another one of my creations! Lemon and sage go oh-so-well together, and give this chicken an incredible flavor. One step closer to my quest to end boring chicken! :P
This marinade, like so many others, is insanely easy to make! It takes less than 10 minutes, and homemade marinades give you full control of what goes in them. For this marinade, the only prep you have to do is juice the lemon, mince the garlic, and finely chop the fresh sage.
Then, add all of your marinade ingredients to a small bowl and whisk away until everything is evenly dispersed.
Did I mention that this marinade smells amazing?? If only you could share smells over the internet… Anyway, once your marinade is ready to go marinate your chicken breasts in a plastic or silicone bag or shallow, covered dish. Keep them in the fridge for at least 2 hours, though overnight is best. The longer you marinate, the more flavorful the chicken will be! Just be sure not to exceed 48 hours.
Once you’re ready, place your chicken breasts on a prepared baking sheet. Lining your baking sheet with foil or parchment paper makes cleanup a breeze! Spoon any extra marinade over your chicken and bake them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes.
You’ll know your chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
And that’s all there is to it! Serve up your chicken with a couple of your favorite sides, and enjoy!
