Hearty and savory, this cozy and comforting beef stew is easy to make in your Ninja Foodi multi-cooker.
Jump to RecipeIt’s absolutely freezing here in Minnesota which means I’m ALL about the most cozy and comforting foods. This beef stew has quickly become a favorite of mine, it feels just like getting a nice warm hug but in a bowl! :P And with the Ninja Foodi doing most of the work, it frees up more time to do something besides cooking. I can already tell that this Ninja Foodi beef stew is going to become a staple in our household!

To start things off, turn your Foodi to ‘saute’ on high. While it’s heating, toss the beef stew meat with flour until it’s coated. This flour will be essential to help thicken the stew so that it isn’t thin like a soup.
Once your Foodi is heated, add the vegetable oil and flour coated beef. Brown the meat on all sides until it’s no longer pink, this will take about 10 minutes.
Once your beef is browned, turn off the heat. Add the beef broth and seasonings (including the bay leaf). Using a wooden spoon, scrape the bottom and sides of the pot to remove any stuck on bits.
Secure and lock the pressure cooking lid (the one that isn’t attached) and turn the valve on top to ‘seal’. Set your Foodi to ‘pressure cook’ on high for 20 minutes. While the beef is cooking, you can chop up all your veggies! I didn’t this time so that I could get the pictures of everything prepped and ready, but ordinarily I’d chop the veggies now as it saves you SO much time.
Once the cook time is up, quick release the pressure by turning the nozzle to ‘vent’. Be careful! Hot steam will be coming out of the valve, so I use my silicone oven mitts to protect my hands and fingers while venting the steam. Once the pressure has released, remove the pressure cooking lid. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and potatoes and stir well.
Secure and lock the pressure cooking lid, again turning the valve to ‘seal’. Set Foodi to ‘pressure cook’ on high for 3 minutes. Once the cook time is up, carefully vent the steam by turning the valve to ‘vent’. Remove lid once pressure has released.
Serve with crusty bread, crackers, or your other favorite accompaniment and enjoy!
