I’m an equal opportunity fry enthusiast, so after making Ninja Foodi fries I had to follow it up with these Ninja Foodi sweet potato fries. They’re simple to throw together and the seasoning blend is so good that you can enjoy them with or without ketchup or your other favorite fry accompaniment.

Make sure your sweet potato is very clean before cutting it up. You can peel it if you want, but I personally prefer to keep the skin on. Place your sweet potato fries in a large bowl and cover with cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to help remove any excess starch. This will help the fries crisp up more.

Drain your fries and pat them very dry. They need to be nice and dry in order for them to cook properly. Then toss them with olive oil, salt, ground black pepper, paprika, and chili powder until well coated.

Place your sweet potato fries in a single layer in the air crisper basket in your Ninja Foodi or air fryer. Set Foodi to ‘air crisp’ at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes. Shake basket halfway through for even browning. You can take them out a little early or late depending on how browned and crispy you want them.

You may need to air fry them in multiple batches depending on how many you’re making. You can heat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit to keep your sweet potato fries warm in.

Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet potato cut into french fry strips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder

Instructions

  • Place sweet potato strips into a bowl and cover with cold water. Soak for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain the water and pat fries dry.
  • Toss sweet potato fries with olive oil, salt, ground black pepper, paprika, and chili powder.
  • Place sweet potato fries into crisper basket, in a single layer, and 'air crisp' in Foodi at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes. Shake basket halfway through for even browning.
  • Add a few more minutes if you prefer them browner and more crispy, or remove a couple minutes early if you prefer them less brown. Remove and serve immediately for best results.

Notes

  • Air crisping in a single layer is important to get the fries nice and crispy. Depending on the size of your Ninja Foodi or air fryer you may need to air crisp in multiple batches. Turn your oven on at 200 degrees Fahrenheit to keep fries warm in between batches.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight glass container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. Reheat in air fryer at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes.
  • Safety first! I love using silicone oven mitts and silicone tongs to keep myself safe while using my Ninja Foodi.
